If you saw a number of emergency vehicles at the old Pinnacle Fitness facility on North Lorraine, you can rest easy. The Hutchinson Fire Department and the United States Army Civil Support Team held a hazmat exercise Tuesday morning.

The event simulated a chemical incident with multiple injuries. The reason for the exercise is simple, better communication and coordination from local emergency crews who would be first on the scene and have to deal with a man made or natural disaster.

The CST and local emergency crews expect to train again in another exercise later this week.
