It’s rare that a misdemeanor case goes before a jury, but that may happen after a 66-year-old former bonding agent was arrested for two misdemeanor counts of promoting prostitution.

Assistant District Attorney Daniel Gilligan telling us that Dwight Jurgens Attorney, Sam Kepfield made it known in a pretrial hearing in front of Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen that his client wants his case before a jury.

Jurgens did not appear in the hearing Tuesday afternoon, but according to Gilligan, Kepfield will file the notice with the court and the case will be transferred to Division 1, which would be the court of Judge Trish Rose. She would then place the case on her trial docket.

Sheriff Officials have remained quiet over what they are actually alleging occurred. We have been told a number of times that more charges could be filed, but so far that hasn’t happened.
