MEDORA – A second person had died in that three vehicle accident on K-61 Wednesday afternoon northeast of Hutchinson in McPherson County.

The Kansas Highway patrol reports that 67 year old Kathleen Lafferty of Inman was going North on K-61 when she drove left of center where she side swiped a semi, then hit a third vehicle, driven by 21 year old Amanda Brown, head on. Lafferty was taken to McPherson County Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. Brown was airlifted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita where she died overnight. The truck driver, 50-year-old John P. Noftsker of LaSalle, Illinois was uninjured.

The crash occurred around 4:50 p-m, about 9-miles northeast of Hutchinson or near Medora.
