PRATT – An 88-year-old Pratt man was taken to a local hospital after a two vehicle crash on K-61 near Pratt Community College.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Howard White was approaching the highway from the parking lot of the college and failed to yield to a northbound vehicle on the highway.

White was taken to Pratt Regional Medical Center for treatment, while a passenger in his vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle were not injured.

His passenger identified at 86-year-old Prescilla White, also of Pratt, and the driver of the other vehicle was identified as Samuel F. Smelser of Preston.

The accident occurring just before 9 p.m. Tuesday evening of K-61, just north of the junction with U-S 54, on the east side of Pratt.
