TOPEKA – A 34-year-old Topeka man has been sentenced to 10-years in federal prison on drug, gun and explosives charges.

Tajuan Carvell Brooks of Topeka, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, one count of unlawful possession of an explosive device after a felony conviction, one count of unlawful possession of an explosive device, and one count of possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.

In his plea, he admitted that he was arrested Sept. 10, 2012, when the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at his home. In addition to crack cocaine and firearms, they found two pipe bombs. Because of prior felony convictions, he was prohibited from possessing firearms or explosive devices.
