A Halloween party turned into the city of Hutchinson’s latest homicide. At 8:06 p.m., Hutchinson Police officers were dispatched to a shooting which occurred in the 200 blk. of N. Cleveland in the alley. The victim in the shooting, 26 year old Dustin Brooks, was transported by private vehicle prior to officers arrival to a second residence in the 100 blk. of E. A Ave., then to the fire station at B Ave. and Walnut.

EMS responded and transported the victim to Hutchinson Hospital where he died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

The shooting stemmed from a party at 203 N. Cleveland. Police are currently following up on and interviewing potential suspects and witnesses in this case and the investigation is ongoing.
