Reno County EMS and Sheriffs Deputies were dispatched to a deer/ motorcycle accident west of Hutchinson. The Reno County Sheriffs Office reports that 39-year-old Roy Dandy of Great Bend, was riding his motorcycle west on 4th when he hit the deer, about 1/2 mile east of Sylvia Road.

According to reports, Dandy tried to avoid the animal, but hit the deer and laid the bike over on its side. Dandy suffered a laceration to the back of the head and a injury above his right eye, along with other scrapes. He was airlifted to Via Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, which happened just before 7 p-m.
