Another murder trial is scheduled for this week. This time, its for a Hutchinson man accused of stabbing another man to death.

Jury selection for the 2nd degree murder case against Aaron Alvarez is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning in front of Judge Tim Chambers

Alvarez is accused of the intentional murder of 23-year-old Allen Frank. He allegedly stabbed Frank to death after the two got into an altercation after Alvarez may have accidentally struck Frank’s girlfriend. The two then argued and Alvarez stabbed Frank in the abdomen.

Frank was flown to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita where he died at around 12:29 a-m, on Thanksgiving morning last year. Alvarez was arrested that same day on the murder charge.

We had been told earlier that Kevin O’Conner may be the prosecutor in the case. O’Conner at one time worked in the Sedgwick County D.A’s office and is involved with the prosecution of a former law enforcement training officer. Bret Seacat is accused of killing his wife at their home in Kingman. He’s now working with the Kansas Attorney General’s Office.

O’ Conner has been handling some other high profile cases around the state as well.

As always, any court hearing scheduled is subject to a last minute change, but as it stands now, jury selection should begin in the morning.
