PrairieStar Health Center announced their new building site at 2700 East 30th, on the Northwest corner of 30th and K61 Highway. PrairieStar needed at least a four acre site that met environmental and zoning requirements and that provided better visibility and easier access for our patients.
PrairieStar is finalizing paperwork, but officials feel confident that things will go well.
With a finite amount of space in our current location, they say they knew they needed to focus on the future and find a way to serve the growing number of people who need our health and wellness services in Hutchinson and the surrounding area. They add that being good stewards of federal funds was also a huge factor for investing in their own facility. They says they took a tremendous amount of time and effort, but receiving the five million dollar grant was the foundation they needed to move forward. This is a wonderful economic development opportunity for Hutchinson and Reno County. The construction positions, local goods and supplies along with increasing jobs in the medical, dental and support staff categories will mean greater wages and benefit dollars growing and remaining right here in our community.
“PrairieStar Health Center is committed to serving this community and we are very excited about the positive impact this new site will have,” said Sally Tesluk. We hope to break ground in the spring of 2013 and have the construction completed by the end of 2014.
