The Hutchinson Fire Department was called to the report of a fire at a home at 710 West 5th just after 7:30 a-m Wednesday morning and did some damage inside the home.

Hutchinson Fire Battalion Chief Darrin Goering says when they arrived the had smoke coming outside the attic. The resident told them that he had some electrical issues Tuesday evening.

Goering says they found some burned insulation in the attic, and were able to get the fire under control fairly quickly and other parts of the roof structure.

They believe it was an electrical issue and it did cause some damage to furniture inside the home. When we were on scene, they were bringing some of those pieces damaged outside the home.

No damage estimate was given and no injuries were reported.
