MCPHERSON – An elderly Barton County woman was injured in a two vehicle accident near McPherson Wednesday evening.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 73-year-old Joyce Burress of Ellinwood was northbound and exiting I-135 at U-S-56. She then failed to yield at the stop sign and was struck by a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Holly Nickel of Hillsboro.

Burress was taken by EMS to Memorial Hospital in McPherson for treatment of injuries. Nickel and her three passengers all escaped injury.

The accident occurring around 6:20 p-m, at the east end of McPherson.
