The motions hearing for murder suspect Billy Craig Jr., is now set for December 17.
Craig is charged for the murder of Jennifer Heckel in June of last year and its expected the hearing could take most of the day.
Highlighting that hearing will be the defense motion seeking a change of venue for the trial. Attorney Greg Bell believes all the media coverage of the case including the recent coverage of co-defendant Charles Christopher Logsdon’s trial would make it impossible for Craig to get a fair trial.
Craig also has other cases pending including a drug case and a case where he was allegedly conspiring to make false I-D’s and other items to try to get money.
He is also facing a charge of contempt of court when he refused to testify in front of a jury in the Logsdon trial.
Again, the hearing on the motions will be a week from Monday on December 17, at least as it stands now.
