Three More Church Burglaries Reported In Hutchinson

Police can’t say at this time if three break-ins at three local churches are related.

Just a few months after 5-people were arrested for more than a dozen church burglaries, three more have been reported in recent days to police.

The first occurred this past weekend at the First Christian Church at 15 East 5th, where thieves caused damage to furniture and stole cash from a fund raiser.

The second occurring Tuesday night at the First Presbyterian Church at Sherman & Poplar. An alarm apparently alerted church employees of the break-in at the building Tuesday night. They apparently reported to police that a white male broke a window and entered the church. No report of anything being taken.

And the latest reported to police comes from an employee of McGee Chapel at 134 E. Sherman. They reported to police Thursday morning an unknown person made entry into the church and stole cash, although no amount was mentioned.

No arrest have been thus far from any of these break-ins.
