The 16-year-old arrested in association with church burglaries in the Hutchinson area was before Judge Tim Chambers again Friday morning on a community corrections violation.

Joshua Hickey had been sentenced early last month to 32-months in prison, but then granted 24-months community corrections.

According to the allegations, he violated his corrections for smoking marijuana and also failing to report to his corrections officer at least once.

Hickey was also ordered to go to each of the 15-churches and apologize to each congregation. He apparently has been doing that according to court officials.

Hickey was found guilty of 15 counts of burglary, 15 counts of criminal damage and 8 counts of theft. Hickey is not only suspected in the burglary of churches, but also burglaries of the Dillon’s at 13th & Main, the Pic-Quik on South Main and Hutchinson High School.

Hickey is one of four people suspected in the church burglaries. The others include 24-year-old Justin Branscom, 19-year-old Jordon Schmucker and Desiree Mahoney.

Branscom was recently ordered to prison in other cases and was arraigned on the burglary and awaiting trial after he entered not guilty pleas. He’s charged with four counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and one count of criminal damage to property.

Schmucker is charged with 5-counts of burglary and one count of criminal damage to property.

A female also allegedly involved, Desiree Mahoney charged with four counts of burglary.

So far, there is no indication that Hickey may be involved in the latest round of church crimes. His bond set at 10-thousand dollars and he will be back in court in two weeks.
