HESSTON – A one vehicle accident in Harvey County Sunday resulted in the death of a 28-year-old Salina man. Killed was Ronald J. Bacon who was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Matthew J, Krier also of Salina.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Krier was southbound on I-135 on the exit ramp in Hesston when his Chevy Tahoe left the roadway to the left. He then over-corrected to the right and slid sideways. His vehicle then overturned on the embankment and came to rest.

Krier was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of injuries, and a third passenger, 34-year-old Rachel Forsberg of Salina was transported to the Newton Medical Center.

Neither Bacon who was killed nor Krier were wearing seat-belts, while Forsberg was.

The accident occurring just before 7 p-m, Sunday night near Hesston.
