Hutch Woman’s Trial On Charges of possession of Drugs And Theft Up In The Air

Whether a Hutchinson woman who was in court Wednesday afternoon for a pre-trial hearing will actually go to trial is up in the air at the moment.

Kylie Hartman was arrest back in August for theft after allegedly shoplifting at Wal-Mart. She was then taken to jail where she allegedly had drugs on her. She was then arrested not only for the theft charge, but also trafficking in contraband into a correctional facility, or in the alternative two counts of possession of stimulants, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Judge Tim Chambers, a motion deadline in the case was set for February 1, however the defense is apparently in plea negotiations with the state, so that same date is also set for a status hearing.

Hartman at one time was charged in a criminal complaint for allegedly being involved in a conspiracy to produce the fake driver’s licenses with murder suspect Billy Craig Jr., however the charges against her were dismissed because of lack of evidence. Craig still faces those charges and a third co-defendent, Kasey Pisoni entered a plea in that case and is currently on probation.
