The Greater Hutchinson business community will have the opportunity to participate in a WorkWell Kansas Community Training on January 31st and February 1st, 2013. The training provides assistance to businesses who want to start, or further their efforts in workplace wellness.

This day and a half long training will teach businesses how to effectively promote healthy eating and physical activity, while also preventing the use of tobacco products among their employees. This evidence-based curriculum will provide tools for businesses to make the most of their workplace wellness programming and show them how to get the best return on investment.

WorkWell Kansas is a statewide initiative, funded by the Kansas Health Foundation. The Community Development Division of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce will oversee the efforts specific to the Greater Hutchinson area.

Health and health care represent a significant business expense. The continually increasing cost should be viewed as a business challenge, and a strategy should be developed to address those costs. A healthy and productive workforce should be a core component of any company’s business strategy.

WorkWell Kansas is an opportunity for businesses to strengthen or develop wellness programs that have the capacity to change the overall well-being of the organization. The Community Development Division of the Chamber is committed to assisting local businesses in their efforts to promote workplace wellness.

Space for this training is limited to the first 15 businesses to register. Cost for this day and a half long training is $75 per business, and each registered business may send up to two employees. Businesses of all sizes and sectors are encouraged to register.
