Hudson Man Waives Preliminary Hearing Meth Distribution Case

A 46-year-old Hudson man convicted in a meth case from August of 2011 and ordered to serve 158-months in prison was in court Thursday afternoon where he waived his right to a preliminary hearing and entered not guilty to the drug charges he faces now.

George Krankenberg was arrested on July 7, 2011 on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, personal use drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp and sale of methamphetamine.

Drug Enforcement Unit Detectives were reportedly doing surveillance on him. They say they observed him in the parking lot of the Home Depot in Hutchinson, when another vehicle drove up, and white female driving got into Krankenberg’s vehicle and they drove towards the rear of the business, and after several minutes, he brought her back to her vehicle.

Officers believed that was a drug transaction that had just been completed, and they then made a stop of Krankenberg in the 900 Block of North Porter. They did a search of his vehicle where officers say approximately two-ounces of methamphetamine along with packaging materials were found in the vehicle. Also located according to the officers was several syringes, and a glass pipe.

The case will now move to the court of Judge Trish Rose for a possible jury trial.

Krnakenberg is already serving time for a case where Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies doing a search of his Chevy truck at K-96 and Sandcreek found two ounces of meth, a zip lock bag of marijuana, a digital scale, and packaging materials. They also allegedly found 100 Valium pills in three different pill bottles with the labels torn off. That was back on August 26, 2011.

He was convicted of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package, possession of marijuana, and Valium, and no drug tax stamp.

He apparently also has a simple possession charge pending in Sedgwick County as well.
