As expected, a Hutchinson area man allegedly caught with a marijuana growing operation was back in court Wednesday where he was read the formal charges against him.

54-year-old Matthew Anderson is now charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to cultivate, as well as sell or distribute marijuana, and no tax stamp.

The charges are a result of his arrested in the early morning hours of September 22nd, when the Reno County Drug Unit served a search warrant at his home at 4005 West 9th.

Detectives says they found 12-marjuana plants growing, while 30-others had already been harvested. Plus, they allege they found 37-starter plants which they say were in the beginning stages.

Also found were numerous high intensity lights, exhaust equipment, timers, grow chemicals and PVC pipe. 219-grams of high grade marijuana was also allegedly found in the home, as well as a digital scale and packaging materials. No drug tax stamps were found on any of the marijuana.

Anderson is free on an 11-thousand dollar bond and his case now moves to a waiver-status docket on October 11.
