Sedgwick County Deputy Saves Cement Truck Driver From Being Hit By A Train

WICHITA – On Friday morning at around 9:45 a-m, Sedgwick County Sheriff Deputies Responded to an injury accident at 47 th Street South and K-15 and found a Found a cement truck had overturned on the railroad tracks west of the intersection.

Deputy Scaglione found the driver, 36-year-old Isaac Sullivan was trapped in the cab of the truck and soon realized that there was a southbound train approaching. The deputy then assisted the driver through the windshield and to a safe distance from the wreckage and on coming train. About 20-seconds later, the train struck the cab and mixer of the cement truck knocking it off the tracks.

Sullivan was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with minor injuries and was then released.

The investigation into what caused the truck to over turn is still be investigated.
