Hutchinson Community College and Midwest Superstore of Hutchinson are teaming up for the second-straight year to fight cancer.
The Blue Dragons’ second-annual Pink-Out Night at the Sports Arena will take place this Saturday as the No. 1 Hutchinson women will play Dodge City at 5:30 p.m., followed by the top-ranked Blue Dragon men at 7:30 p.m.
Both HCC men’s and women’s teams are 22-0 overall and in first place in the Jayhawk West at 8-0 after victories over Seward County on Wednesday night.
Tickets for the games are $7 for reserved seats – they are on sale daily in the HCC Athletic Office – and $5 general admission. The games and Pink-Out Night itself are being sponsored by Midwest Superstore of Hutchinson.
All proceeds raised on Saturday will go to the Cancer Council of Reno County, a local group providing services and education to people and families affected by cancer.
Once again Pink-Out shirts will be available on Saturday only. Fans can get a shirt with a minimum $5 donation.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. on Saturday and tables to distribute shirts will be set up on both the West and East arena concourses. HCC students can get their shirts at a special table located at the northwest corner of the Sports Arena.
Men’s and women’s autographed ball and framed pink-out shirts will also be up on silent auction.
The inaugural Blue Dragon Pink-Out Night raised $6,700 last year.
