Hutchinson Regional Medical Center today announced that Thomas Smith, M.D., will join the hospital’s leadership team as the interim Vice President of Medical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer, effective April 1.

Kevin Miller, President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, said Smith will assume responsibility for providing input and leadership to facilitate the hospital’s quality outcomes, performance improvement, and patient care goals.

“In addition, Dr. Smith will serve as an administrative liaison to members of the medical staff,” Miller said.

Dr. Smith is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA. He is a board certified Otolaryngologist (ENT) and has practiced medicine at Pease & Smith in Hutchinson, KS, since 1980.

“The Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System is pleased that a person of Dr. Smith’s caliber has joined our leadership team,” Miller said.
