After a brief pause in operations to repair an issue with the projection lens, the Kansas Cosmosphere’s Carey Digital Dome Theater is reopening Friday for feature films with the Academy Award Winning “Lincoln,” starring Daniel Day Lewis, who won “Best Actor” for the film.

The lens at the Cosmosphere theater needed replacing after gas became trapped behind the lens, which caused a gradual film buildup. Officials say this contributed to the decline in clarity and visual quality. This prompted officials to take action once the issue was identified. The lens was replaced at no cost and tested with amazing results.
