After a 20-year-old Hutchinson man facing charges of intentional second degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm waived his right to a preliminary hearing back in January, his case may finally make it to arraignment.

Isaac Devante Beltran is scheduled to be in front of Judge Tim Chambers Friday for arraignment where he will enter a plea in the case.

Beltran was arrested as a result of the shooting death of 26-year-old Dustin Brooks in the alley behind the home where Beltran lived 203 North Cleveland last Halloween night. Brooks suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and died after emergency surgery failed at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

Also expected to be taken up is the issue over whether his community corrections for a drug conviction should be revoked. That case goes back to December of 2010.

Again, the arraignment hearing is scheduled for Friday.

Beltran remains jailed on a 150-thousand dollar bond.
