For the first time in recent memory, Hutchinson High School had a pair of homecoming queens.

After counting and recounting the student vote Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, HHS Student Council sponsors determined there was a tie between Maggie Heck and Amber Sparks.

Both were honored at halftime of Friday’s game with Salina South at Gowans Stadium. They crowned the king prior to the start of the game was Max Stewart.

Other king finalists were Ja’mon Cotton, Erik Roberts, Steven Rose, Najahaun Tipton-Wylie, Terrance Wise and Timothy Wise.

Other queen finalists were Ashley Elliott, Kathleen Fee, Taylor Mayes, Erinn Penny and Emily Wedel.

Homecoming festivities conclude with a dance Saturday night.
