It was just after 8 a-m, Monday morning when when emergency responders were dispatched to K-61 and Dean Rd. for the report that a van had crashed at that location and the driver being unresponsive.
When Reno County Sheriff Deputies arrived, they found a 2004 Ford minivan had been north bound on Dean Rd. crossed the railroad tracks and then went off the west side of the road and struck a fence.
The vehicle was locked and still running and the driver, 81-year-old William Nisley of Hutchinson still had his foot on the accelerator, but was not responding to anyone.
The deputies forced entry into the van and shut the vehicle off.
Nisly was wearing a seat belt and was suffering from a medical condition, and was treated by medical personnel at the scene and later transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where his condition is unknown.
