A Hutchinson woman was injured in a five vehicle crash on I-235 in Wichita on Wednesday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, all five vehicles were southbound when a sixth vehicle rapidly slowed down to make what they say was an illegal u-turn through the median.

Another vehicle slowed down to avoid hitting the unknown vehicle, and that started a chain reaction.

29-year-old Catherine Hook of Hutchinson was one of those injured and was taken to Via-Cristi, St. Francis Regional Medical Center. Although the highway patrol report indicates others might have injuries, it doesn’t indicate any others being transported to a hospital.

The accident occurring at around 5:25 p-m, Wednesday on the west side of Wichita.
