The 33-year-old Hutchinson man convicted and sentenced to 73-years in prison for the killing of Jennifer Heckel has been granted a new attorney in a separate case from the murder.

Charles Christopher Logsdon had filed a “pro-se” motion meaning he filed it with out the assistance of a lawyer wanting a new attorney for an aggravated battery case against him which is still pending. He says he doesn’t feel he’s being properly represented by Michael Brown and that there may be a conflict of interest. He also states that it would be in the interest of justice for him to get a new attorney.

Judge Tim Chambers Monday granted the request and assigned Pam McClemore, another Wichita attorney to represent him. He’s charged for shooting of Eric Harbacek in the leg after an altercation during a party or get together on November 26, 2010.

That means there will be a delay in this case going to trial until his new attorney gets up to speed on the case. Not that it matters because Logsdon is already serving 73-years for the murder of Jennifer Heckel. She was found shot to death in her home on the cities northwest side on June 14, 2011, including in the head and back while her young son listened to her being killed in another room.

Again, Logsdon was granted a new attorney for the aggravated battery charges for the shooting of Eric Harbecek. When the case will come before the court again is unknown.
