A 38-year-old Texas man was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries after a one vehicle accident on Nickerson Blvd., and Wilson Road.

Reno County Sheriff Deputy Travis Vogt was doing patrol early Sunday in that area when he says he noticed some debris on the roadway on the curve of Nickerson Blvd.

As he turned his car around to remove the debris, he then noticed a white SUV in the ditch on the southwest side of the intersection on its side. It appeared the vehicle had rolled over several times. Deputy Vogt found a man sitting in the back seat area of the vehicle who says he had been there for around an hour and didn’t know where he was or what happened.

The man was complaining of leg, neck, and back pain. He was identified as Christon Spencer of Temple, Texas.

He says he was leaving Hutchinson headed back to Arlington where he works on an oil rig.

Spencer had to be extricated by the Jaws of Life by Hutchinson Fireman.

The vehicle he was in, a 1998 Ford Explorer was destroyed and the crash is still under investigation.
