It could have been bad, but luckily no one was injured when a train struck a semi-trailer in the county early Sunday.

According to Reno County Sheriff Officials. At around 3:16 a-m, Sunday morning deputies and EMS were dispatched to a semi vs train accident in the area of Lake Cable and Fairview Rd., near Arlington.

The semi, owned by Vanbeek Trucking and driven by 57-year-old Ray Sexton Jr, of Dalhart, Texas was southbound on K-61. Visibility was bad due to blowing snow and strong winds causing the semi to jack knife and slide onto the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. A northbound Union Pacific train then struck the trailer of the semi.

No one was injured in the accident even though the semi trailer was destroyed.
