We now have the funeral dates for the two who were killed in a house fire in Nickerson last weekend.

A notice sent out by Elliot Mortuary in Hutchinson indicates that the funeral for 55-year-old Goerge C. Danser, Sr., and 14-year-old Nikolle Danser will be Saturday at 2 p-m, at the Nickerson United Methodist Church in Nickerson.

The two died in their home at 205 North Nickerson early last Saturday morning. The call coming in around 4:30 a-m.

Nickerson Fire Chief Kenneth Burgess says there bodies were found after the Kansas Fire Marshal arrived to assist in the investigation.

When fireman arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames and Burgess told us the only thing they could do was fight the fire defensively.

He says it took sometime to find the victims because they had to wait for the area to cool down enough where they could get in to search.

He says the home is a total loss and the cause of the fire has been deemed, “undetermined.”
