Rusty Bryant Sentencing Pushed Back One Week

Rusty Bryant 3

After a Reno jury were could not reach a verdict on two counts of burglary against Rusty Bryant, that has caused a delay in sentencing in another case.

He was scheduled for sentencing Friday after a jury found him guilty of 4-counts of aggravated burglary and 7-counts of auto burglary associated with crimes in the Prairie Dunes- Linksland Drive area in suburban Hutchinson between July 5, and 11 of 2012.

The jury earlier this week did find him “guilty” of two counts of theft and the state wants time to decide if they will retry him on the two counts of burglary.

One of the alleged crimes occurred outside Grace Bible Church at 1221 East 33rd. He allegedly stole tools from Wiens and Company Construction and their employees. They had a semi trailer at that location and he allegedly broke a lock and stole various tools from the truck. The other incident involves him breaking into a vehicle at a nearby car lot and stealing a GPS Device and That was on July 13, 2012.

Judge Trish Rose agreed to delay the sentencing for one week to allow the state a chance to decide what they wish to do in this case.

However, whatever the decision, he will be sentenced on the Prairie Dunes area burglary and theft cases next week. She says they will also sentence him on the theft cases in the second case after a jury found him guilty earlier this week.
