The big news out of the Reno County Commission meeting Tuesday morning was the announcement by County Administrator Gary Meagher that County Appraiser Lori Reedy has resigned from her position as of April 1.
Reedy has been the appraiser since 2008, however has worked for that department since September 1, 2006. She was originally hired to be the Chief Deputy Appraiser under Marvin Clements, but then became the appraiser with his departure.
With the announcement of Reedy’s departure, Sue Poltera, the current Chief Deputy Appraiser will take over directing the department until a new appraiser can be appointed. Poltera has been with that department since 1998.
Apparently the county has already started the process of looking for a replacement for Reedy with Renee Harris head of Human Resources telling us she is already starting the process of advertising the position.
The state will also assist to some degree of overseeing the department till a new appraiser is appointed.
