Reno County election officials were hoping for around 19% voter turnout for Tuesday’s elections and they didn’t receive that many, even with the vote over building a new jail. Jena Fager, Deputy Election Officer says they received around 17.6% turnout, a little better result then what was earlier stated.

She says they had 7-thousand, 311 residents vote in the election on Tuesday.

Fager says even though its less then what they were hoping for, it was still a little better then what they usually get for municipal elections.

She says the jail issue, no doubt, led more people to vote in the election this past Tuesday.
