A 35-year-old Hutchinson man arrested three times last year for allegedly being in possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell waived his right to a preliminary hearing and as it stands now, Jacob Maxwell will go to trial in all three cases.

In the latest case, Maxwell also faces charges of interference with law enforcement, no tax stamp, felony theft and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute. Hutchinson Police were apparently called to his home in Careyville on the report of a possible stolen vehicle, a Gray 2002 Dodge Ram, allegedly taken from the parking lot of Home Depot.

When police approached the garage of the home, Maxwell allegedly ran from the officers, but was quickly captured and on his person was methamphetamine and some paraphernalia. Police estimate the amount of meth was between a quarter to an ounce which they consider a sellers amount. They also allegedly recovered the stolen pickup.

He apparently was released from jail on bonds for one of the three cases, so the bond in that case was revoked and now has new bonds totaling 90-thousand dollars, but according to the jail log with the sheriff’s office, he has bonds totaling 145-thousand.

He was arrested overnight on a charge of driving while suspended while being an habitual violator

He will be arraigned on all three cases on May 6, in front of Judge Tim Chambers.
