One Of Two Men Arrested For Theft Of Items in Burrton Makes Court Appearance

Reno County Jail

One of two men who were taken to jail Thursday afternoon following the discovery of a stolen ATV and a stolen mini-bike made a first appearance on the charges Friday morning.

45-year-old Ronald Jay Smith was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of stolen property, driving while suspended and illegal tag display. He’ll be back in court next week for a status hearing.

The other man was 20-year-old Sebastian Muns who was arrested for possession of stolen property. He managed to make bond and should appear in court at a later date.

The case starts when deputies were dispatched to the location in eastern Reno County for a report of suspicious activity. That’s when they found a white suburban with a 4 wheel ATV hanging out of the back doors. They also found mini bike inside the suburban. The two men were then arrested over the discovery.

The 4 wheeler ATV and mini bike were recently stolen from a residence in the Burrton area according to Reno Sheriff Captain Steve Lutz.

Lutz has said earlier that other charges may be filed in the future by Harvey County Attorneys Office.
