A 54-year-old Lecompton man escaped injury Wednesday when he crashed his Crop Duster plane in Rice County.

Edward Smith was flying east-bound spreading chemical when the plane made contact with the ground causing it to crash land.

The crash occurring just before 4 p-m, Wednesday afternoon at Avenue Q and 12th Road in Rice County.

This is the second crash of a plane in Rice County this week.
