A former bonding agent was bound over for trial Thursday afternoon on all 8-counts against him.

Dwight Jurgens is charged with four counts of aggravated human trafficking, two counts of attempting to commit aggravated human trafficking, rape and aggravated criminal sodomy. The human trafficking and aggravated counts are charged due to his authority of controlling persons because of his bonding business. He had worked for TNT bonding at the time of the initial arrest.

All four victims testified that they were threatened with being taken back to jail if they didn’t agree to have sex with him.

The most dramatic came from a victim who told the court of him giving her money for drugs and then took her to the Trails West Motel in South Hutchinson where they had sex.

She says her bonds were in excess of 16-thousand dollars and her boyfriend was coming to bond her the next day, but Jurgens got her out the night before. She testified to being high on heroin and that she would come in and out of consciousness. At one point she woke up and says he was on top of her.

The others testified of being threatened or at least under the impression that they would be thrown back in jail unless they performed. One apparently refused.

Judge Joe McCarville found there was probable cause to believe the alleged victims and ordered Jurgens be bound over for arraignment and trial.

He’ll be arraigned in front of Judge Trish Rose on June 3, however, his attorney Sam Kepfield indicated in court that the state has made a plea offer. So, this case could be resolved without it going to a jury.
