The 4th of July Fireworks are a go thanks in part to Eagle Communications and the city of Hutchinson.

During Tuesday’s Hutchinson City Council meeting, it was announced that Eagle Communications, the parent company of KWBW, KHUT, KHMY, and Hutchpost.com will help with the 15-thousand dollar cost for the city fireworks show at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

The fireworks were in doubt after the Hutchfest ceased operations last year. There have been efforts to bring back a small one day event, but that wouldn’t include the fireworks.

Under the agreement, Eagle will provide 3-thousand dollars in funds while the city will pony-up 10-thousand and Showalter Fireworks will donate the rest.

Eagle stations KHUT (Country 102.9) and KHMY (My 93.1) are also the sponsors of the “Patriots Day” Parade which is scheduled for the morning of the 4th of July.
