A Reno County Sheriff Deputy has been arrested and charged after a nearly 2-week internal investigation ordered by Sheriff Randy Henderson.

30-year-old Jonathan Diaz is charged with two counts unlawful sexual relations with an inmate, two counts of aggravated intimidation of a victim and two counts of bribery.

The deputy made a first appearance in front of District Judge Joe McCarville Tuesday afternoon and bond was set at 100-thousand dollars.

The allegations were made against Diaz by female inmates in the jail. The investigation progressed to where it appeared the deputy was possibly involved in crimes against these females. A request was made to the KBI to allowl local KBI Agent Jeff Newsum to follow up and continue the investigation.

The deputy is being housed out of county as you would expect, but Sheriff Randy Henderson would not comment as to where.

Diaz will be back in court on June 4, at 8:15 a-m, before Judge Randy McEwen.
