(AP) — A former middle school counselor in Salina has pleaded not guilty to having sex with a boy younger than 14.

Thirty-two-year-old Brooke Dinkel, a former counselor for Smoky Valley Middle School, was bound over for trial Monday. She faces 10 counts of rape and 10 counts of aggravated criminal sodomy. Her trial was scheduled for Oct. 14.

The Salina Journal reports the boy testified in a preliminary hearing last Wednesday that he and Dinkel had sexual contact more than 10 times after he started stripping wallpaper at her house.
