At approximately 2:30 p-m, on Wednesday, the Pratt County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Office out of Wichita that they had a tip of some military ordnance at a residence in Sawyer.

Pratt County Sheriff Officers responded to the residence and secured the area. The McConnell Air Force Base Explosive Ordnance Team was notified and responded to assist.

It was old military ordnance which was disposed of at approximately 11:00 p-m, that night on Pratt County Property.

Sheriff Officials say that at no time was the public in danger. No evacuations were necessary, not even at the residence where the ordnance was found.

The incident was investigated by the Pratt County Sheriff’s Office.
