A 37-year-old Hutchinson man is expected to go to trial on Tuesday for a charge of aggravated battery.

Joshua Seck is alleged to have gotten into a fight with David Stover leading to Stover being stabbed in the back. The handle of the knife involved allegedly broke off either during or after the attack. This occurring on August 26, of last year.

Seck claims the altercation and him wounding Stover is a case of self defense. Police didn’t buy his argument leading to the aggravated battery charge being filed by the state.

The trial is expected to last maybe a day and a half. It begins Tuesday in front of Judge Tim Chambers.
