TOPEKA – A 67-year-old Greenwood County man has been found guilty by a federal jury of unlawful possession of explosive materials, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Thursday.

Alfred C. Dutton, of Eureka was convicted on one count of possession of an unregistered destructive device. During trial, prosecutors presented evidence that on Aug. 23, 2011, Dutton possessed grenade bodies and other parts for use in constructing a destructive device.

Sentencing will be set for a later time.

He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
