Larned Resident Wins Kansas Speedway® Official Pace Car

TOPEKA – A Larned resident has won a spectacular 2011 Ford Mustang GT Kansas Speedway Pace car in the Power Play to Kansas Speedway promotion, which was held Sunday, October 9, at Kansas Speedway!

Ben H. Bailey was the lucky winner of the 2011 Ford Mustang GT Pace car grand prize. In addition to the vehicle, the prize also includes all mandatory state and federal income withholding taxes and initial taxes and fees, bringing the total value of the prize to approximately $59,500.

“I bought Powerball tickets with the Power Play option every Wednesday and Saturday since this promotion started,” said Bailey. “When Lottery officials called saying that I had won, I thought someone was playing a trick on me.”

Bailey, who purchased his winning entry at Dillons 9, located at 423 Main St. in Larned, said he was thrilled to have won the brand new Ford Mustang.

“My car is 12 years old and I needed something newer to drive,” said Bailey. “I can’t wait to get it! Now I can drive to California, Florida, and Oklahoma to see my relatives.”

To become eligible for the Power Play to Kansas Speedway promotion, players purchased Powerball with Power Play, $10 minimum, on a single ticket to receive an entry form for the drawings. Prior to the grand prize drawing on Oct 9, 80 players also won VIP Racing Experience prize packages for two to the June and October NASCAR races at Kansas Speedway.
