A 25-year-old Hutchinson man jailed for four cases entered pleas in two of them, while the state dropped the charges in the other two.

Jacob Henson entered a guilty plea to aggravated battery after he and another inmate got into fight inside the jail annex back on June 19. Apparently the fight between the two had to do with issues they had with each other outside the jail. The victim, Joshua Holmes suffered a broken jaw and broken finger as result.

Henson also entered guilty pleas to charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of Oxycodone, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, namely prescription drugs, both with a prior convictions and possession of drug paraphernalia. All of these crimes occurring back on March 7, 2013.

He had been charged with violating a “protection from abuse” order which occurred back on May 15. That was dropped as well as other drug charges.

Henson’s bonds went from 20-thousand to 5-thousand dollars and his desire for a signature bond to take care of another case in Harvey County was denied by Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen. Henson was hoping to see his kids through this, according to his statments in court.

Sentencing in case is set for October 11.
