The 21-year-old Hutchinson man police say broke into a home and inappropriately touched a 10-year-old girl and two 9-year-old’s made a first appearance on the potential charges Monday.

Tyler Ford faces charges of aggravated burglary and three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. He asked for a reduction of his bond, but Assistant District Attorney Andrew Davidson said if anything the bond should be increased. He called Ford a “danger to the community,” saying it’s a nightmare for any parent. He says three of these charges fall under Jessica’s law.

Apparently the burglary and touching of the girls happened when the kids were in bed according to Davidson.

Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen denied the request for a bond reduction, assigned well-known Wichita Attorney Alice Osburn to represent him and set the next court date for Wednesday to give the state time to file formal charges.

The girls’ father chased Ford from the home and police later found him walking in the area, then found his cell-phone in the child’s room. He was unknown to the family, but apparently lives within a block of their home.

Ford had been on community corrections for burglary from August of 2012, and a burglary and theft from January of this year.
