A 25-year-old Haven woman was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center around 3:00 p-m, Monday for treatment of injuries she suffered in a one vehicle accident in the county.

Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies, Haven P.D. and Haven Fire and EMS were sent to Haven Rd and Lake Cable Rd for the report of the single vehicle crash. When Haven units arrived, they were unable to locate the scene at first and started searching the area. A few minute later a Haven officer found the crash scene in a field about an 1/8 of a mile east of Haven Rd on Lake Cable. That Officer reported that the vehicle was upside down in the south ditch, and that the single occupant was trapped inside.

Haven Fire units were able to free Elisa Ausherman from her 2004, Ford, Escape.

The investigation reveals that the vehicle had been west bound on Lake Cable Rd., went off the south side of the road, then over-corrected, sending the vehicle across the roadway and into and through the north ditch into a corn field. The vehicle then came back again going through the north ditch and back across the roadway, going into the south ditch striking a culvert, which caused the vehicle to roll over onto its top.

Sheriff Captain Wayne Baughman says they don’t believe that Ausherman was wearing a seat belt. She was transported the hospital with unknown head injuries.
