The ticket audit for attendance at the Kansas State Fair is complete and reflects attendance of 340,795 this year, a slight decrease of .6% from 2012.

The excessive heat the first weekend had a sizable impact on attendance those days says State Fair Manager Denny Stoecklien.

The attendance on the second Saturday was 66-thousand, 669 which was the highest attended day since the first Saturday of the 99 State Fair when 67-thousand, 885 people attended. Stoecklien says he think the second Sunday would have been much stronger as well if it wasn’t for the heavy rainfall that afternoon.

The carnival did well though, They grossed 1-million, 223-thousand, 589-dollars compared to 1-million 220-thousand, 444-dollars a year ago, an increase of .26%.

The second Saturday was the highest grossing day ever for the carnival according to Stoecklien.
