A 30-year-old Hutchinson man charged of possession of cocaine with intent to sell, no tax stamp and obstruction of official duty in one case, and possession of marijuana in another is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
Demetrius Burgess is accused of having more then a gram of cocaine when he was stopped by police, then allegedly ran from them leading to the obstruction charge. He was also arrested for failing to appear is a dometic battery charge, and when arrested, he allegedly had marijuana on him leading to an additional charge of possession of marijuana.
The hearing is scheduled to be held in front of Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen.
